August SNAP event was held at Launch and Go Workspace in Peachtree City, GA. It was one of the best turn outs we’ve seen since COVID. As always, airline cocktails and inflight snacks were provided on our trip to the land of inclusion.
About SNAP: The Special Needs Alliance of Professionals is a semi-quarterly networking event bringing together local business owners, professionals and families to discuss diversity, inclusivity, accessibility and community.
This month’s SNAP event was sponsored by Dr. Jeff Kalins and lead by our SNAP Co-Chair, Daniel Campen of Campen Estate Planning. Others in attendance were Tanner Lowe, Jay Lerner, Tami Morris (AV Pride), Jacqueline Lamb (Lekotek), Jen McMullen (parent and Southside Admin), Leah Ravelatto (parent), Lavonia James (grand parent), Kim Cotton (Karla’s Dance Factory) and Patty Gullick (Patty Gullick Tutoring and Southside Board President)
Topics of conversation were challenges facing families with invisible disabilities (anxiety, food allergies, autism, etc), learning to celebrate and accept these differences in children and adults alike.
