Support Groups

Caring for a dependent with special needs can present unique challenges and responsibilities. Southside Support, Inc. understands the importance of finding support, community, and friendships for our caregivers with others who can relate to their experiences.

At our coffee gatherings, caregivers will have the opportunity to discuss things such as coping strategies, self-care practices, and insights into the unique joys and challenges encountered along the way.

By coming together, sharing experiences, and supporting one another, caregivers can find solace, encouragement, and inspiration on this remarkable journey.

Kids' Day Out Camps

Fun for Them, Care for You!

Our Kids Camp is more than just a summer program—it’s a lifeline for families in the special needs community. Designed specifically for individuals with special needs, this camp offers engaging and inclusive activities that provide participants with a joyful and enriching experience outside the home.

While the kids are busy enjoying a fun and supportive environment, their parents and caregivers get a much-needed break to focus on self-care, manage personal responsibilities, or simply recharge.

By offering this dual benefit, our Kids Camp not only brings happiness and social connection to participants but also fosters the well-being of their caregivers, contributing to the overall health and strength of our community.

Game Night for Adults with Special Needs

Southside Support is excited to introduce our **Monthly Game Night for Adults with Special Needs**—a program designed to foster connection, friendship, and fun. This event offers a welcoming environment where adults who often live in isolation at home with a caregiver can come together, enjoy a free pizza dinner, participate in games, and engage in other exciting activities.

The transition from high school can be challenging for individuals with special needs, particularly when it comes to maintaining social connections. Socialization is crucial for mental health, as it helps guard against depression and loneliness. In fact, we often receive heartfelt calls from adults with special needs asking for help in finding a friend. This program directly addresses that need, providing a safe and supportive space for adults to form meaningful friendships and become part of a vibrant community.
